Dear friends,
our 150 members local area group consists of two cub scouts, two venture scouts, one scout and one ranger troop. They are co-ordinated by 16 scout leaders.
We live in Essen-Überruhr in the ruhr-district which is in western Germany. This area was famous for industries, but now it is changing and there isn’t much industry left.
The godfather of our 21-year-old group is Charles de Foucauld, who lived, after getting a priest, alone with the Tuareg in the Hoggar-mountains (Algeria). He is still a model for a lot of people, because he influenced with living not with preaching his christian faith.Every year there are a lot of activities and the highlights are the summer-camps. Every group travels on their own. So we got to know something about France, Norway, Finland, Denmark, England, Scotland, Ireland, Benelux, ....
